Sunrise Senegal is almost 1 year old! What began as a dream to create meaningful journeys to Casamance has slowly grown into a warm travel initiative full of culture, connection and inspiration. And of course, a birthday calls for a special gift…Time flies. We are standing at the threshold of our first anniversary, and honestly, we are more than a little proud.

Last May, Sunrise Senegal began with a dream. An idea. A deep wish to invite people to discover the beautiful region of Casamance, in southern Senegal. Not just as tourists, but in a way that truly touches the heart. Closer to nature, closer to local life, and perhaps also closer to yourself.

What started as a plan for meaningful journeys and retreats in Casamance slowly grew into something much bigger.

From dream to reality

Over the past months, we have worked incredibly hard. On the website, the programs, the routes, the texts, the images, the practical details, and of course on the feeling we want Sunrise Senegal to carry.

And now our website is shining.

It has become a place where you can already get a taste of the warmth of Senegal, the beauty of Casamance, the hospitality of the people, and the special journeys we are creating.

We are truly proud of that.

Not because everything was perfect from day one, but because it has been built with so much love, attention and perseverance. Step by step. Image by image. Text by text. Idea by idea.

It all started with Casamance…

Casamance remains the heart of Sunrise Senegal.

Travelling with Sunrise Senegal means meeting, sharing and creating meaningful memories together.

A region full of peace, nature, mangroves, wide beaches, colourful villages, music, traditions and deep connection. A place where life moves at a different rhythm. Where you can slow down. Where you can breathe. Where you can experience how simple and rich life can be at the same time.

Our journeys to Casamance are created for people who don’t just want to see a place, but truly want to feel it. People who are open to meeting others, experiencing culture, personal growth and real connection.

…and then new ideas began to grow

As often happens with a dream that is alive, more ideas started to appear.

We are now also working on a beautiful Art Tour to Dakar, where art, culture, creativity and the vibrant city life of Senegal come together. Dakar has so much to offer: galleries, artists, markets, fashion, music, history and modern African expression.

We are also exploring special possibilities in The Gambia. Beautiful locations, warm encounters and inspiring combinations with Senegal are all within reach.

So Sunrise Senegal is slowly growing further. Not through rushing, but through inspiration. Through collaboration. Through listening, feeling and creating journeys that truly feel right.

From October 2026, the new travel season begins. And we honestly can’t wait.
